RFID (radio frequency identification) is a device that stores product information in a small chip and transmits data wirelessly by attaching an antenna, and refers to a recognition technology that can manage information of various objects such as food, animals, and objects through IC chips and wirelessly. It is called 'electronic tag', 'smart tag', 'electronic label', or 'wireless identification', and when used in a company's product, information from production to sales can be embedded in a microchip (IC chip) to track it at radio frequency.

RFID is considered the next generation of recognition technology to replace barcodes commonly used for commodity management in the distribution sector so far. RFID consists of a reader that functions as a reader and a tag that provides information on the entire process of production, distribution, storage, and consumption, and allows the reader to read this information through the antenna.

RFID is used not only for public transportation fee collection system but also for distribution, but also for animal tracking devices, car safety devices, personal access and permission devices, electronic fee collection devices, and production management.
